I am a native Virginian (NOVA), but went to school at the University of Arizona (B.S. Biochem), and came back home to work and get my MPH at George Washington University.  Always focused on health, healthcare related programs and work -- I found CrossFit in 2010 and I knew one day I wanted to create an environment for myself and others to learn about CrossFit and live a lifestyle focused on fitness!!

ITB CrossFit opened in 2016 -- it is a labor of love and life lessons in the box - creating fitness, fun and family all in one place! 

Why does Marti do CrossFit? 

I need to reverse years of bad movement -- CrossFit helps me focus on correcting my movement, increasing my mobility, increasing my strength and overall fitness.


Favorite WOD:

Coffland* - because I am good at two things - hanging from a bar and running.  But seriously -- to hold on to the bar as long as possible - it takes mind (pushing past the pain and breath control) and body (grip strength).

Hang from a pull-up bar for 6 minutes
Each time you drop from the bar, perform:
800-m run
30 push-ups

Advice to Athletes:

Know your goals (both physical and nutrition) -- work on your weaknesses -- have fun and compete with the you from yesterday -- every day is an opportunity to do better -- be better!
